Connecting an Amazon seller account
Each seller authorizes IQ Scout to read its own Amazon data through Amazon's official authorization (OAuth). IQ Scout never sees your Amazon password.
Status: Amazon connection is not available yet — IQ Scout's public Amazon application is pending Amazon's registration.
How authorization works
- An organization owner chooses Connect Amazon in Settings › Integrations.
- You are sent to Amazon Seller Central, where you sign in with Amazon and review the access IQ Scout asks for.
- If you approve, Amazon returns a one-time code to IQ Scout. The code is exchanged on our server within minutes and is never stored or logged.
- The resulting long-lived credential is stored encrypted in a server-side vault, readable only by the background service — never by the browser.
- Each authorization request is single-use, expires within minutes and is bound to your organization and your user.
Access requested
Only non-restricted roles, and only the data needed for the features you use:
- Product Listing — account.marketplaces, catalog.lookup, fees.estimate, listing.restrictions
- Pricing — fees.estimate, pricing.offers
- Selling Partner Insights — account.marketplaces, review.topics
What IQ Scout keeps
- Your seller identifier, region, marketplaces and the roles you granted.
- The data each feature reads (for example catalog details or fee estimates), with its source and retrieval time.
- No personal data of your buyers is requested.
Disconnecting
- Disconnect at any time in Settings › Integrations: the stored credential is deleted immediately.
- You can also remove the authorization in Amazon Seller Central (Manage your apps). IQ Scout then marks the connection as revoked.
Re-authorization
Amazon requires sellers to re-authorize applications periodically and when new roles are added. IQ Scout reminds the owner before access lapses.
